Pour Steve Ballmer, Pdg de Microsoft, l’idée est simple : «permettre à notre clients de profiter de la même infrastructure [que nous], conçue à partir de tout ce que nous avons appris avec Windows Azure et SQL Azure.» Bob Muglia, président Server and Tools de Microsoft, précise le besoin : «comment [permettre à un client de] faire fonctionner Azure dans son centre de calcul ?» Et la réponse de tomber : en enfermant un petit bout d’Azure dans une boîte, une appliance. L’idée est donc simple : proposer une version d’Azure en Cloud privé. Avec, donc, un niveau de contrôle supplémentaire, par rapport à un cloud public : « ça reste un service, fourni par Microsoft, mais il est possible de contraindre les données à ne pas sortir du cloud privé, décider des mises à jour à appliquer, etc.» Lesquelles seront néanmoins poussées par Microsoft soucieux de maintenir précisément une certaine continuité entre Azure public et Azure privé.

Un concept encore bien peu concret

Pour l’heure, l’appliance Azure ne devrait être proposée que par Dell, Fujitsu et HP, via EDS - il est à noter que Dell et HP sont déjà les deux fournisseurs retenus par Microsoft pour les serveurs de son offre de cloud public Azure. HP est en outre, pour l’heure,ghd lisseur, le seul constructeur de "l’appliance". Microsoft assure que d’autres suivront, mais ceux-ci devront suivre un cahier des charges technique défini par l’éditeur et pour l’instant gardé secret. Sollicité sur ce point, Bob Muglia n’exclut pas un modèle à l’abonnement ou en location, qui serait «pertinent». Et de préciser néanmoins que rien, sur cette question, n’a encore été arrêté. On sait juste que le premier client de l'offre privée Azure n'est autre que le géant du commerce en ligne américain eBay.

Des partenaires circonspects

Un successeur vient enfin d’être trouvé à Michel Ducroizet, qui avait quitté son poste de directeur général France de Fujitsu Services au début du mois de janvier dernier. Les résultats de Dell confirment l'embellie des investissements IT::Constructeurs::LeMagIT,ghd flat iron.Un nouveau signe de la reprise des investissements IT des entreprises. Dell vient de publier des résultats flatteurs pour son second trimestre fiscal 2011 (mai à juillet 2010). Le chiffre d'affaires du trimestre bondit de 22 % en un an, à 15,5 Md$. Le progression est même supérieure de 2 points dans la zone EMEA (Europe, Moyen-Orient, Afrique). De son côté, le résultat net s'accroit de 16 %, à 545 M$. Des croissances spectaculaires qui s'expliquent toutefois largement par le creux connu en 2009, qui fournit des bases de comparaison favorables pour Dell.

Si la demande côté grand public montre des signes d'essouflement, selon le constructeur, la croissance est portée par le renouvellement des équipements des entreprises. A 1,89 Md$, le chiffre d'affaires de l'activité serveurs et réseau progresse ainsi de 35 %. Selon le Microsoft Security Response Center, qui gère la réponse de Redmond aux failles affectant ces technologies, l'éditeur va prochainement sortir une rustine comblant la faille de son navigateur Internet Explorer,louboutin sale, faille exploitée par la récente attaque contre de nombreuses sociétés américaines dont Google. L'éditeur a confirmé que ce patch sortirait avant son prochain "mardi de la rustine" (Patch Tuesday), programmée pour le 9 février. La rustine concernerait toutes les versions d'Internet Explorer, selon ZDNet. Elle est actuellement en cours de tests.

Data Execution Prevention : une protection illusoire ?

Plusieurs codes exploitant cette faille circulent sur le Web. Si Microsoft soutient que les attaques n'affectent que la version 6 de son navigateur, et recommande de migrer vers la dernière mouture d'IE (la 8), des chercheurs en sécurité affirment désormais avoir développé des codes permettant de lancer des attaques similaires sur les versions 7 et 8 de l'outil. Le chercheur Dai Zovi explique notamment que la fonction DEP (Data Execution Prevention, une fonction censée bloquer certaines attaques, notamment par débordement de mémoire tampon) - le mécanisme que Microsoft met en avant comme préservant les derniers IE de cette vulnérabilité - est inactive par défaut sur de vieilles versions de Windows (Vista RTM, XP SP2 ou plus anciennes).

Pire : la société française Vupen Security affirme avoir développé un exploit permettant de prendre le contrôle d'une machine même quand la fonction DEP est activée. Si cette société basée à Montpellier réserve le code de cette attaque ciblée sur IE 8 et exploitant JavaScript à la communauté de la sécurité,mbt chaussure, le contournement de DEP constitue clairement une escalade dans la gravité de la faille mise au jour. With all the upgrades to passenger vehicles in recent years you'd think the number of injury accidents would be on the decline. Most vehicle manufacturers have included both active and passive safety features to their cars in an effort to make them safer. Published in the Journal of Risk Uncertainty, the study suggests that drivers of "safe" vehicles (eg. ? vehicles that are loaded with the best passive and active safety features) are just as likely to get into accidents and sustain injuries as drivers who were driving "less safe" cars. Researchers analyzed motor vehicle data from 1992 to 1997 in Washington State and found no marginal difference between the number of accidents or the level of injury to the drivers between the safer cars and those that weren't considered as safe. Why? The change from left to right had an effect on how drivers drove. It increased their level of perceived risk and caused them to be more cautious while driving. The increased caution reduced the number of road crashes for almost two years. But people began to realize that the roads were less dangerous than they thought and because the risk of being injured in an accident had declined,planchas pelo, they became less cautious in how they drove and the number of accidents began to climb back to the original number.
